Jamaican Fuel Distributor Gets New Owner

Private-equity firm Blue Equity LLC is taking control of Jamaica's largest fuel distributor for an undisclosed sum, as it expands its presence in the Caribbean nation, The acquisition of a controlling stake in Cool Petroleum Holdings Ltd., which in 2010 reported revenue of $330 million, is a "pretty big" deal for Louisville, Ky.-based Blue Equity, said managing director Jonathan Blue.
